a) "Do you work here?"...that's just a classic.
b) "Do you sell dirt? Not *dirt*, but dirt-dirt?"....WTF?
c) "Would I be able to kill my neighbor's cat with this if I poured the whole bottle on my garden?"...she was referring to a bottle of Calcide - stupid and evil. I was so mad! She was one of two customers that I've simply turned and walked away from.
d) I've noticed that customers really don't care how much product knowledg you have. They just want you to tell them what they want to hear. If you can't do that, then they'll just ignore everything you said and go ask the next person they find.
People suck.

I remember my days at Rona.... I enjoyed the customers who didn't know what they were talking about so they just describe what they are looking for as a swear word.
"Hey Bra, Where the **** is the F***ing thinger.. for like S**t you know?"
"sorry BRA, i don't"
"****!!!"
"Um, Whats it for?"
You know like to get that stuff off your house..."
"What stuff?
"Blood"

Customers who want to take everything *out* of the packaging so they can inspect it, and then change their minds about buying the item but don't take the time to put everything back *in* the box. That annoys me.
Oh, and people stuffing their faces with popcorn - but I already mentioned that in another thread.

You should offer them directions! Or start drawing them a map on the back of a pick ticket!

I have a customer who comes in routinely on Friday nights and just moves stuff around
Seriously, he picks something up, walks around the department and then puts it down somewhere else....then does the same thing with something else, and then something else...and then he leaves. It's weird, I can't tell if he's just really bad at shoplifting or really indecisive.
Friday's are weird nights to work. The crazies come out in full force.

What do you mean they don.t make it they have it at Depot" Funny Ive worked in this trade 20 odd years never seen it at Depot or anywhere but knock your self out getting it. Then learn to do the job right as I told you and you won,t waste all this time looking for a non excistent fitting

I don't work for Rona... but it seems the customers are the same all over the retail country....
I get people coming in and asking for something I know we don't sell... they insist we do.... I tell them.... you find it on our shelves .. I will personally pay for it
Guess what... I've not paid out a red cent yet

you whant to hear about a retarted coustumer. the other day i had a customer come up to me. he was telling about a problem he was having with his hand grinder. he said that the gaurd on the grinder was to small and wasent allowing him to use larger disks. so i asked him what kind of disk he was trying to use and he said let me show you. so we walked to the end of the aisle where he picked up a 7 1/4 (exchange-a-blade) saw blade.
WTF!!!

Customers who who return used, and installed toilets. I had one customer come in and he put his USED toilet that he bought from rona from a month ago, on the return counter, and all the water spilled out. Then i kindly explained that i could not return this item due to hygiene reasons, and there was fecal matter still smeared in the toilet bowl by the way. Then he throws a hissy fit and tells me that if he goes up the street to STAPLES business depot and buys a printer which he doesn't like he can return it. In my head i'm just like, the difference is that ur ass doesn't go on a damn printer!! He continued to yell, and the manager just told me to refund it and write off the toilet to get rid of the damn customer.

it wasnt to long ago that a couple had kindly asked me for help, they were difficult in itself as they wanted something we were unable to get.. but after i had finished an irate customer approached me screaming about me helping them ahead of him, this being the first time i had ever seen the individual..
after about a minute i become bored with his rant and interupted him outright and asked him if he wanted help..
ofcourse, he replied.. so i said "then show me some dam respect or im going on my coffee break"
he proceeded to tell me he was in a hurry.. i replied "well thats not my fualt" he asked whos it was, and i replied "obviously yours buddy"
he staired jaw dropped speechless, i proceeded to explain how i was the only one in my department on shift, and that i am only one person, he wouldnt like it if someone bitched at him at his workplace... he eventually appolagized and stated that it was a long day for him and he shouldnt have taken it out on me..
i was finally content
until he left and some dum sh!t asked me how much something what, that had a price sticker right on it.. followed by a customer who wanted me to cut plexiglass on the panel saw.. and insisted home depot would do it.. LAUGH they wont even cut plastic lattice..

Home Depot Comparisons are the worst. Customers need to realize that Home Depot and RONA have the exact same policies and practices on practically everything.

I have been working at Rona for about 7 months in the plumbing dept and you can tell the pros from the hacks right away.
There was a young man walked up to me and asked me for laundery sink I gave it to him and a cheap Faucet ,then thats when it went a little sideways. He asked me for a Connector for a water spout I asked for the 1 outside ?no his repley was to his washer.he was wanting to hook up his water line for the Faucet that way witch is wrong .I suggested to him what the right way was he told me that i was making it to hard for him to do it .I am in no way a plummber I have learned there is a right way and a wrong way of doing it .I could feel this going into the ditch realy fast.I said ok you can do what ever you want.I suggested to him talking to a plummber and getting him to do for him. Then I asked him do you have a p trap already? He looked at me stunned whats a p trap?Other customers where there and they overheard what was going on .And he told him dude get a plummber. He looked at me smiled and walked away. Now how much poop would I have gotten in to if i have not said anything to him and he got home and his plan back fired on him?

after he continued to yell i asked the customer to hold on.. and said "im on the dam phone ill be with you in a minute"
he then stormed off agrily.. some people are just so dumb

Ok so these dumb customers you guys speak of ...its been my experiece that assoc working these kinds of places are not as skilled as the contractors that you guys help most of the time..therefore implying that if you were as skilled then you would be working as one and not saying "how can I help you?" ..."We dont have that in stock" only to have it 3 feet away because you "geniuses are too smart to bother...what a wasted thread
