Think about all the midnight closings and the other crazy hours. All the harrassment from customers and managers. You will be too stressed to teach. RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

fashion is right! You know as I do that teaching can be very stressful! If you want part time work, find retail work that pertains to your profession. Is there a teaching supply store around you could pick up some hours or a small boutique in your area?

Yes, someplace that doesn't have crazy mall hours!

woah.... I did have a moment of temporary insanity. I found one of my old pay checks while I was cleaning last night and laughed at it. Then I realized that it was not worth the hours and stress after school. I thought that it would be a "fun" job to have during the holidays I forgot how much it stunk.

It really depends on where you work and what you do. I don't have to deal with the customers or the pressure to open credit accounts so its not that bad. If you wanted the money, I would go for it again, even though the money might not be great, it IS still extra money in your pocket. If you are completely against working at Macy's but want a seasonal job find something that you can learn from that might help in your teaching. Do you teach a particular subject? Look for part-time work in that industry... Or maybe go back to college to work on another degree?

Lady, the bad part is the hours. Who wants to be at work at 12 AM?
If you want to do something extra, try to find something with decent hours.
You could ask the visual manager at Macys' if they are hiring a seasonal helper, that wouldn't be bad, and you wouldn't have to deal with customers. Yay.

MAYcylady - the reason they are not open till Christmas is snow. You will be miserable in the snow!

Anyone else ever take note on the type of customer who shops for gifts at midnight?

Let's just say that they're missing a few items on their list...

I think it's b/c of the area that they are in, not the weather. Surprised

Last night I had the hankering for another new Blender and an Alphani shirt. Would you believe that at 2:00 AM Macy's was closed?

I have never been so da(n insulted in my life.

I found out yesterday that Ashley Furniture has been bought out by somebody else, and they are closing some stores, so don't think about working there either.

Don't worry, Terry's longterm dream is for Macy's to be open 24/7.
