...Arrive!
Has anyone heard the new "song" for this campaign? It sounds like a really bad rap and I can't believe Sears would pay money to have such a thing created. I almost wish I could find a copy on Youtube or something to show those more fortunate than us what we have to listen to three or four times an hour now. Ugh.
And I find the whole thing ridiculous. Where my Sears is located all the schools have mandatory uniforms. So the kids here can't even wear anything they're promoting!
What a waste.

My old Sears had tons of school uniforms but no local school required them.

Our softlines ASM was making fun of this the other day. He was reading the slogan in the most fey manner possible.... with jazz hands. It was quite amusing.
Try it, you'd think Perez Hilton himself had coined the phrase.

I can't believe this ad campaign for back to school.
Who are they trying to appeal to? Is it promoting
education or the latest gangwear?

Meh, I'm so-so with this latest campaign. Kids do recognize that girl who's always on the front page of the ad...Vanessa whats-her-name and I've heard more than one kid squeak about it. That's the whole point of it, I guess.
We've had a few people come in looking for the VIP item, but not much.
Also, the new clothing we've gotten in, especially Southpole is selling extremely well at my store. So is the kids Dockers line we got in.

And lets face it, it blends SO well with the Frank Sinatra and poppy peppy singer songwriter stuff they're playing the rest of the time.

Some of the style look good however it looks like they combined the clothes from the 70's, 80's and 90's into one outfit. I remember wearing the leggings, the vest, the hat, and the glove hands is the Madona's thing back in the 80's.
The guys style some of it ok but some it looks like a gang thing.
You just have to look at it this way some of our parents didn't like the clothes we were wear back in our days. I know my mom wasn't happy about some of it.

Some of the clothing is nice. I do like some of the fashions we've received in Juniors and juniors plus.
I know that people don't like it when someone speaks positively about something Sears does (heaven forbid) but this is a good thing for sears. I skimmed through the comments. People like what she's wearing. Someone even said and I paraphase, "I'd never wanna shop at sears but seeing this makes me wanna."
So I think this is a good score for Sears, but I don't know at this point whether it's going to help us or not...both with the way the economy is and the overall reputation of Sears.

Thanks for the link on that. Toward the end of that lame-ass video/song if you look quick you see on the building obove the steps with "Hoffman High" above the door.
Talk about your submittal messaging. Now a quick question from anyone in that neck of the woods.
Is that the real Hoffman Estates High? You know the joint where the kids come in after school, dancing and shit then work on the "Holdings Corp" IT systems and such. ~GoodFella
