Here are some stats on the sales of appliances and electronics on some of Sears major competitors. Some numbers are derived from percentage of sales since that's how they are listed in the SEC 10-Ks.
Lowes-Home Appliance Sales
2005-$3.8 Billion
2006-$4.1 Billion
2007-$4.3 Billion
Home Depot Appliance Sales(from Kitchen & Plumbing percentages)
2005-$23 Billion(31% of sales)
2006-$24 Billion(30.5% of sales)
2007-$23 Billion(31% of sales)
*since other categories are involved in Home Depot stats for aurguments sake using a 30% of those sales numbers that still puts HD HA sales over $6 Billion a year.
Best Buy Appliance sales(from percentages of total sales)-domestic
2005-$1.6 Billion(4% of sales)
2006-$1.8 Billion(4% of sales)
2007-$2.4 Billion(6% of sales)
Best Buy Electronics sales(from percentages of total sales)
2005-$7.6 Billion(27% of sales)
2006-$8.6 Billion(28% of sales)
2007-$14.7 Billion(41% of sales)
Target Electronics(from percentages of total sales)
2005-$10.6 Billion(23% of sales)
2006-$13.0 Billion(22% of sales)
2007-$13.9 Billion(22% of sales)
What really impressed me is that both Best Buy and Target's electronics sales are over half of Sears stores total sales. With flat screen technology getting cheaper everyone seems to be seeing increases in HE especially. If you ever wonder where market share or your sales are going here's SOME of the stores.
Numbers from the sec.gov and the SEC 10-Ks or annual reports from these companies for 2006-2007.

Best Buy is the absolute worst place to buy an appliance IMO
I'd but from Lowe's first, HD second if I had to choose someone other than Sears.

Dictator, I think your figures are way off. Sears is #1 in appliance sales, at least temporarily, and Lowes is #2. HD could not possibly have that much in appliance sales. Sears market share is dropping every year and Lowe's will overtake them in the next two to three years. The last year I saw the list, I believe it was 2006, Sears was around 32% and Lowes was around 20% and HD was around 11%. However both Lowe's and HD were trending up. Any guesses which way Sears is going?

Oldtime:These are not market share numbers but dollar volume for each store.
All the numbers came from or were derived from these company's annual reports or SEC 10-Ks.The percent of sales are based on THEIR total sales.
EXAMPLE:Home Depot-in 2007 HDs total sales were $77 Billion.HD's Kitchen & Plumbing sales accounted for 31% of their total sales. 31% of $77 Billion is $23 Billion. If my math serves me correctly you can multiply 77 Billion by .31 to get the 23 Billion number.
I think the estimate is low on HD's appliance sales in that they don't give a breakdown on their Kitchen and Plumbing sales so I did have to guess on that. You could cut my estimate in half and HD still doing 3 BILLION a year in appliances.
If anyone has any information to add please do.

One of the most stunning numbers was the $6 BILLION INCREASE in electronics for Best Buy in 2007.Even Target almost increased their electronics sales by 1 Billion in one year.
Even if you look at Best Buy's appliance numbers they are trending up along with Lowes.
The only reason SHLD,not Sears might not have shown a nasty drop in market share is that you have Kmart and Sears combined.Sears is loosing approximately 1/2 Billion a year in total sales and some of that has come from appliance decreases.
