the initial mark down on 911s is not low enough it creates us to have massive amounts of used merchandise through our store, the program needs a change when you can buy new products at 15% off how do you sell a repaired one at 20%. At the top if you read this site change this program it is making a mess of your floors.

991s are a pain in the ass
until they get to 25% or better no one wants them, they don't qualify for the delivery rebate and so I just ignore them.

I just hate when you sales types take the tags off them. I gotta punch all those numbers into a very finicky snc.

Simmons: Our MPU guys asked us to leave the 991 tag on to make their lives easier... so we do.
All it took was someone telling us it was important to you guys.

yea we ask too, every day. "oh ya i forgot the customer has it"
or the person that made the 991 didnt have the right tag so they just used bin ticket paper which is not big enough for the whole barcode so its useless

Er...MA, why did you guys have to be told it was important? It's obvious that the tag should stay with the product!
At my store, sometimes associates put the 991 tag on the backside of the closeout sign put on the item. Other times they just leave it on the item...can't tell you though, the number of times I've had to track down tags or randomly put in numbers to see if the item is on the 991 table. It's not hard, but just really annoying.
I'm just glad that 991's aren't my responsibility at my store anymore; though, it is nice learning where the bargains are at the store--two "big" purchases of my have been 991's that have been reduced to a ridiculously low price after several weeks.

Vickers: when I first started I was told to remove the sale tag and put on a SOLD tag with the salescheck# ... the MPU guys said this was a problem for them, so we leave them on now.

Ah, okay. To me, I would assume to always leave the original tag with the product, regardless of it being sold or not. Just seems right to me.

Depending on the manager of the department he/she could tell you how much more to take it down. One of the BC manager we had would tell me to take it down another 10% or take another $100 to $200 dollars off. If the markdown price isn't low enough having the sale price a better deal I'll ask the BC manager if the item can be taken down more.

I like how many times it willk take the price much higher than the current promo price on a new item. We end up having to mark the stuff down to a reasonable range that we think it can sell at. Then the 991 table drops the bottom out on an item, and it becomes too cheap as well. Like in the case of a clearence Sony LCD, I don't want that to ever drop to 200 dollars below the cheapest brands, regardless of what the 991 table takes it too.

yeah - 1st markdown is usually 10% or some lame BS like that ... how about 20% to start? that'd get the stuff out the door waaaayyyy faster.

I don't... the constant pile of unboxed slide-ins and dishwashers feels cheezy and looks awful.
Get rid of it!
