I am working right now in a great couple of departments. My sales are close to were they should be, been making bonus, customers are thanking me for have stocked shelves, and of course, great employess. Within the last month, we got a new ZM over us. We all sit down one day, and was informed that we are not doing well. Which to me makes no sense, because the SM as well as ZMs have said the opposite.
He said he was from the old school. No big deal. As stated to us in the zone I am in that we will follow the rules and guidelines as outlined by corporate. About three weeks later, we were asked to come in to sign two documents. One was for a good write up and the other for a bad writeup, he informed us that we have until 11-06 to take action on which one we wanted to keep in our folder. To me this is stupid!!
We in the zone got this done to us, because he wants us to be a better DMs. The writeups were done, because of a simple thing we didn't do.
What we forgot to do was when we have our weekly walks by our ZM, SM, District Manager(biweekly), and Regional Manager(4timesayear) is that to verify it being done by signing off on it, dating it, and if not done why it wasn't done.
On average I get about 90% of this done on a weekly bases. My only thing I forget to mark why certain things didnt get done. I told him that if we are held in a higher state then other DMs why is it we are being put thru this?
Any thoughts?

As I stated in ETHICS the paper trail is going to get big Lowe's is going to cut the work force and as long as Lowe's has the proper paper work when the firing starts, their is going to be NO unemployment, whatch and see. At this time I"M researching this and it should be done in a few days or so.

So MyBad, your saying this ZM is doing this so they will be able to justify firing some of these dms, like this poster?
My thoughts are this ZM is a total jerk, like so many of them are. What do the other ZMs and SM think about this? I wouldnt sign any of that stupid bull crap.

Guys, unless you are fired for cause unemployment is undenyable. You job performance is someone's opinion. Unless of course they falsify the information regarding your termination which is possible.

He's trying to assert his authority over you. Also if he's holding you to a higher standard (you used the word state, not sure what you mean by that) than everyone else it's called discrimination.

I highly doubt that would make sense for a few reasons
1) it was an accident
2) if these aren't tested how does corporate know they even work?
I can understand if product is staged in front of them a write up because that's just safety

Eye wash station does cost the company some moneyout of their margin, but as long as there was no horse play it shouldn't be anything to fret about. I have seen two employees do the same thing and they were fine, no recourse besides a talking too.
The write up thing- Lowes does like to make a paper trail, they do this because they have a whole team of legal advisors to execute their motives wrong as they may be.
I have seen many people fired because of these write up's unfortunatlly, they were forced to sign their own fate. I try to send e mails in regaurds to any thing I feel important or tasks that are not sent down by ems. This way I have my own paper trail. As anoying as this is unfortunatlly i found by doing so, I've got ot of a lot of tough situations. S*** rolls down hills, this is why I do this, b/c offten enough they forget what they assigned to you. I apallogize for being long winded and hope this helps you.

You can not accidently pop the eye wash station. If you do it and are caught then you will be written up. I believe it is a Class A violation since it is a safety item.
