Can you guess which one it is??

You might see the same old faces if the guys were good, but otherwise, Psa's just got alot busier.

I doubt the PSA's are getting physically busier. They'll just get a electronic task and then afte two weeks when the question hasn't been answered, it will get coded by some VSM clown that it was done.

CSA, MMI, NVS and Total Impact were reset co. that I know of. I doubt Total Impact will be back after the fine job they did on the track lighting sets. I heard bits and pieces CSA may be gone. MMI does store setup stuff, don't know. NVS has merged and is now Impact Resource Group. Some of those guys (Reset Leaders) are still in the stores, most are on unemployment right now waiting for work.....maybe..??
A District Manager from a reset company told me last fall Lowes goal was to do all their own resets just before he quit.

Hey Hem, U know who this is.

And you know the co. I'm talkin about!

Hem, are you still going to stores or is it all over for you too?

Let me break the news here...

The Reset co you wont see is NVS. There, I said it.

So Lowes can do cheer "yeah we got NVS out of the store" And then feel a sense of deflation as they find that they will still be doing resets there, just under a brand new name.

(nothings changed)

And as always, "the futures uncertain and the end is always near" for us reset people.

Let it roll baby roll...

Welp Reset guy, not sure whats up with you guys. I thought March things would pick up for you guys. The wonderful PSA program is keeping us employed for now. The condition of Fashion Lighting is not good and has been recognized by Lowes bigshots during walkthroughs.

As far as I know. They are realigning things to reduce/eliminate travel expenses. So going west may not be in the cards anymore, however only 7.5 store in our area. Not enough for two, yet too much for one. Some stores are going to one visit every two weeks. So we wait to find out the poop. First week of March I think.

IRG lost a big contract assembling bikes for a big box chain. I get the impression assembly jobs will be sporatic at best. The Lowes i visit are dead, hardly any traffic at all. When folks aren't buying anything I can't imagine assembling stuff will be a large part of buisness for some time. A steady 40 hour week job doesn't look to be in the cards.
I see Lowes PSA's doing more and more of the large resets and i doubt IRG will be sending reset crews all over the northeast due to travel costs as in the past.
May be time to look elsewhere.

It makes perfect sense that the PSA’s are executing projects in-correctly because of the information being provided from VSM. It also makes a great deal of sense that traveling & conducting large scale projects that require huge expenses is not even close to being feasible for those companies that agreed to anything other than net 15 on a monthly invoice. New store set companies supposedly were given an ultimatum that terms would be for 100% completion for all required sets before payment in 2009, however with credit being the state that it’s in, it’s hard to get a payroll loan these days. If you think about it, as a company, you could have crew in store for a month before 100% sign off. So for NVS, looks like the beginning of end is very near with their IRG assembly program gone. This is probably the case for all remaining groups at this point, the only surprise being that it’s taken this long. Most companies that I’ve talked to either have other retail store operations going on, or scaling accordingly and planning for Lowe’s no long being in the picture. I heard (have no concrete proof, but it sounds feasible knowing the individual) that his boss has been planning for day zero since 2004 and has been stocking funds away since then. Further planning that when he gets the next big “you doing this or else” that he’ll agree to the terms and quietly provide cash incentives to his top managers & give everyone else two weeks’ notice. He’ll have the Fountain boat gassed up and ride off to the lake house later that day, preferably a nice spring sunny one! Thus, if you’re anything other than the son of the owner, I would plan accordingly.

I was a vendor in Lowe's from June 2003 till the big shake up of 2008. We all knew it was just a matter of time before Lowe's took everything into their own hands. I hate going into Lowe's and see how bad the Flooring Department looks now. I took so much pride in what I did. I use to make sure there were grout charts on every other bay in the tile aisle so people could look at grout colors with the tile right there in the aisle. Now it is tough to even find a grout chart in the grout aisle. I use to take the time to make sure every rug card was at the same uniform height down the rug aisle. Those rug cards are tangling for their lives now. I am not bitter one bit. I know what Lowes did was what they thought was in their best intrest money wise, but in the long run I believe they are going to realize they were wrong.
