Speaking of.....How about a mom asking US what size their child wears? What a dumb sh*t!

| How about when they feel the need to tell you everything they own. Like they'll ask for a navy blazer. You show them some and then they tell you they have one just like that and then proceed to say, I have a million blazers, red, grey, black, purple, yellow, green, chartruese etc. Like we are impressed. I want to just say, then why are you in here bothering ME???? Go look in your closet. |
You should try working in fragrances; they tell you their complete fragrance history! "I started wearing Shalimar when I was 13, my mom gave it to me......"

Today I was appalled by the attitude of three 12 y/o girls who came in today. One was bringing back a Guess dress. The return came to $54 and some change. At checkout, since no method of payment was specified, I started giving her an Easy Exchange card. At that time she yelled out, "I WANT CASH!" I explained to her that without a receipt, I couldn't give her cash. She started screaming at me pointing to the CRL saying, "ISN'T THAT THE RECEIPT?" "No, it's the proof of purchase, but I can't give you cash without a receipt." One of her little friends butted in saying, "THEY TOLD US THAT WE CAN GET CASH BACK." So I explained to them for the third time that without a receipt, they could only get store credit. The then third girl says that she's always had terrible customer service at Macy's. Girl #1 yelled, "CALL A MANAGER!" By then, I was fuming at the attitude of these little bitches in training, so I said, "Don't get snotty with me!" My manager came, and then the mom came and gave her the same attitude. Boy, did that explain a lot about where the girls got their attitude. At least my manager stood up for me telling them I was correct in what I had said. She looked up the CRL for method of payment and proved it was cash, so the little bitch got her damn money.
Sorry this story was so long, but that was a terrible experience with adolescence. What will they be like later on in life I wonder?

The girls will be the ones getting boob jobs before they're sixteen, restalyne by 23, and will completely forget what their true hair color is before the end of this year. They'll go through life completely unaware of how to fill out a 1040-EZ tax return, calculate percentages, find Turkey on a map of the world, build a fire using kindling and deadwood, or be able to explain the differences between reptiles and amphibians.
In short, they're professional consumers, of products and resources. That's all.

Why do I have all the crazy people?
Today a woman came in with an toddler Echo sweatshirt with a broken zipper that she bought in November! No receipt, no tags and not even purchased on her Macy's. She wanted me to look up the transaction with her Visa card. Since the sweat was old, we didn't have any. I called the manager and he made a deal with the lady that the store would pay for the zipper replacement/repair.
She shopped and while I was ringing her up, she hands me a 20% coupon. The discount went through, and I dated the coupon. She flipped out! She asked me why I dated the coupon, so I explained that she can use it only one day, all day. She said she's been using it all week because she had asked the other sales people not to date the coupon. I told her that the register instructs me to date it, and it was part of my job. Evidently no one dated it, but I was the bad guy. She looked at my name badge and thought for sure she would complain that I was rude!
I quickly went to the store manager, but he was too busy to hear my story.

Don't feel badly about the coupon, bell. You're good. And I'm hoping your manager just gave crazy lady the side-eye when she ranted about you following proper procedure.
I've learned that writing the date on the coupon doesn't mean that people won't try to scam us, however. I've heard that
a) "the girl" in the other department put the wrong date down;
b) "the other Macy's" people told her that her coupon was good for a week/month/year/lifetime, etc. ;
c) the customer used the coupon at five minutes before close on her last shopping trip and was told that she could finish her shopping -- and use the coupon -- on her next visit.
I hate people.

I always circle the date on the front (when they have the calander on the front), and I sign really big AND date the back.
They should make it so that the coupons will only work for one day in the system. I'm sure there's some way to do it.

All MF coupons used to be "live". The computer would NOT accept them if they were already used. I have heard the " I used it at 8:55 and couldn't finish my shopping" excuse a million times!

A lot of place does that. Like staples once you used the coupon it won't let you use it again. The only way macys can do that if all coupon codes are unique, but macys is to lazy to do that.

Oh dear! Conculating coupons? it will never happen, it's illegal in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Minnesota. I believe it is also illegal in Orlando, Miami, Tampa, and Atlanta on Thursdays and Sundays if done between the hours of 1:30 and 8:30 and all day on February 29 every 3 cycle.
