I have realized that they want to work us to death with little or no recognition (or pay for that matter). I know I've had customers that want me to shop for them, and that's OK if it's a Tuesday (dead day), but to actually hold their hand on Friday-Sunday, no way Jose.
But if you're the only associate in the department (by a main door) you can't very well just leave whenever even to take a piss. MAYcylady you're right: they never focus on how well we do, just that little nit-picking crap that might annoy them. Hey, at least we show up; what else do they want? |

Actually, we have some waaayyy under performers, and when we complain we are told (by managememt), "At least they show up."!!! Why is that good enough for some, but the rest of us are suppossed to go above and beyond??? |

I know of a few customers that when I see them, I point them out to the other associates and tell them that no way in hell will I help them. Every associate has their nightmare of a customer. |

Are these stupid executives who make $300,000 a year and come up with these ridiculous Ob Shops crazy enough to think just because we ask them to come back, that they are GOING TO?????? How about having merchandise in the stores that actually makes them WANT to come back without us asking them to!!!! |

The next requirement of the observational shops is for the sales assoc. to beg the "guest" to come back. If you are observed by mgmnt. begging the guest to come back and shop at Macy's, you will be given 1 BEG A BUCK {worth $1.00 Macy Money}. If you are observed NOT performing thils key customer service task, then you must pay back 1 Beg A Buck. Don't worry if you have to pay back Beg A Bucks which you don't already have. Because You Count and Macy's is so understanding, the store mgr. will keep a tally in the office of how much each assoc. owes back and you will be able to use Macy Money to get out of Beg a Buck debt. This new requirement will also help to drive the Star Rewards program because assoc.'s will have to open lots of Express Credits in order to earn Macy Money to get out of debt if they are not begging enough.
