... I know I am crossing into foreign territory, being that I work at Evil Eye and all, but I have a question:
I promise I am not trying to be the bitchy customer, just wondering if you have any insight to this-
I went to Sears today en route to a movie and asked for a small bag to carry my magazine into the movie with (popcorn grease ruins everything). They said no, that it was against store policy to give away free bags. So I said, "Ok, I will buy these socks," and was told that my purchase didn't merit a bag.
Are you guys hurting so much that bags are no longer expendable? I'm not being sarcastic... just wondering what the big deal was.

agreed. It is store policy not to give out bags just because, but when a purchase is involved, one must be given

Honestly, if you had not asked for a free bag then I am sure your socks would have been put in a bag. It is a theft issue....they were probably suspicious....I am not defending it now, just trying to explain it.

If you come to our store you get a bag with a purchase.. We give out bags according to the size of merchandise for the reason some customers which turn out to be crooks come in and buy something small and ask for a larger bag so they can fill it with merchandise they are not going to pay for. Also we dont give out bags with out a purchase or extra bags.

same deal at our store as the posts above, everything gets a bag is normal procedure, unless its something that can't be put in a bag, then it gets the sears security tape.
