Hey!Know it's been awhile since I last visited ;I went to the other retail worker site for all my information.What's been going on in my store?Let's see...an LP was replaced(they said he was given the chance to quit or be fired)for sexually harassing a cashier(she got laid off by the way)!  His replacement was proven guilty of LYING on two employees&trying to get them fired!  Seems he came upon them stacking lumber inside with the blockers down(what's the word I'm looking for here;ah yes,SHOPPABLE!  ) Anyway,he went to mgmt. and the next thing they knew it was "come to training room";Class A violation,final notice,loss of license  .Trouble was they had witnesses...2 of them.One of them an employee,the other a CUSTOMER!!!!The customer is ALWAYS what?RIGHT!!!!  To make along story short,LP's boss and district mgr. were brought into it and the next thing you know NO writeups(they had to take power equipment tests again though)Go figure  Also occurring at our store were the first-ever layoffs in March!!!!What's up with this I haven't a clue.Among the layoffs were team leaders,cashiers,delivery drivers,AND new hires(they had only worked a few days then BYE  Has ANYONE ever seen anything like this? Yet another interesting development are the gallup meetings.Seems we got such a low "grade" on our survey that mgmnt.has to sit down with us to "discuss" our poor opinion of this place Well,anyone have an opinion about what's occurring here?Is it happening in yourstore too?

Sounds like a new manager is town. We lost 7 department heads in February when a new manager came in. This was when I first started with Lowes, six weeks after I started. Geez, I thought what kind of place is this if 7 department heads are gone, just gone. The new SM we got was a nice enough guy but not very bright. When he left for a new store we all breathed a sigh of relief, then the new guy came. His time is about up, thank God, but the next one maybe worse than both of them.
One thing about Lowes, or maybe this happens in all retail, don't like the SM, wait, they will be gone in 2 to 2 1/2 years. |
