Posted my 1st message just a few days before the site went down last month. I was asking for advice in which dept. would be the best to apply for. I asked for the kitchen design position as you and others suggested. The manager made an offer; it was lower than I anticipated.
What is this position getting per hour in other stores?
Thanks for the previous advise to all that responded.

Where I am in NY (not NYC) hourly is more like $8-15. I get more then 9 and less then 11 / hour.
I actually think the job is good. I work Hardware dept. If you dont know anythng about tools and stuff it might not be for you but if you know the basics you can learn quickly. I worked a couple other depts too, Gardern (rough in the summer), Lumber/building materials (not my favorite place), and electrical (really need to know you electrical stuff to work in that dept).
BTW, I just found this place. This is kinda cool because I was thinking what if there were a place for all retail workers to get together and talk about work stuff.

Home Depot has become like Kmart. Employees that no zero except how to punch a time clock.
I worked there and found out it is all about the profits and screw the customers...
