Hi ya'll !! I am new here , found this site on google , I am ggoing thru the hiring process with Lowes right now! Got my first two interviews out of the way , now I got the tird one to worry about! Its tomorrow , and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what I should wear , should I continue to dress up? Will I have to take any tests in that interview? I did one questionaire the first interview , then a drug test in the 2nd one , now this 3rd I don't know what will happen  I wanna know if we have to take a math test , and if its hard , cuz I am not the good with math  Plzz , help anyone who knows whats goes on in those interviews , and how much they pay to start , I told them I wanted to be a cashier , or work on the floor in any department helping cuustomers , I don't think I'll be a cashier though , cuz they said they have no full time positions open , so maybe the other one, even though I don't know exactly what I'll be doing....

lOl, I have my 3rd interview tomorrow as well..and so far the process has been cake and I think I made a good inpression, I think the key is to just be honest and yourself and show interest in the job and that will show that you have what it takes...
this is just what I have done...and I have a good feeling Ill get the job..I think I will be on the floor as well..not sure what department though. |

OMG!! LOL , we probably trying to get in the same store , cuz we are both from Michigan , well I did the interview today , your gonna talk with the Store Manager , he is gonna ask you questions about why you want the job , what experience you have for the job your applying for , basically the same questions the other two guys ask you , he'll right what you say down , and tell you they'll either give you a call or a card in the mail in a week , call you got the job , mail you didn't. I don't know if I am gonna get hired , I thought they offer you a position right then and there , if anyone knows what happens , do they offer you a position after your 3rd interview?? Or do they think about it and call you?? If they offer you the job after the third , then I guess I'm screwed

lol is it in lincoln park??? if so than yes we are applying at the same place lol..haha..
well thanks for letting me know what to expect, and I have to be there at 815am..lol but Im ready and I think I will get the job I have a good feeling, not only that I found out that the store manager and I both are from meijers lol so we have something in common already..im crossing my fingers tight because lowes is really growing and I bet it will only get better for them.. anyway..good luck and wouldn't it be funny if we ended up working together..

Dude good luck in your interview tomorrow , the guy is really nice  Let me know what happens , I am soooo scared , I think I messed up , if you get a job offer tomorrow after the interview then that means I didn't get the job  and if you don't get a job offer yet , that means that we both are gonna be going insane waiting the 1 week to find out what happens , thinking that the phone is ringing , making sure the damn phone ain't broke , or bitching at the mail lady for delivering the rejection card LOOOOL hopefully there ain't no rejection cards coming our way  Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!

lol that is too funny..oh and the interview went well I think, but get this I have to go back monday for another one..yep and this time it is with the store director I think..Im not sure, but im confused if there are only 3 interviews to go through, why am I going throuh another one.??????
I did mention managment in the interview, I mean maybe they are thinking of trying me for that, I don't know Im not sure, and the new store I suppose has many openings..even for cashiers I thought.. anyway, good luck and I hope they call ya, and I hope someone can give me some insight into this and why I must go through another interview.. |

I don't know , maybe that means your gettin hired I didn't get a fourth so I should expect the damn card lol , well I guess I'll try for Target , they are opening a new one of those by Lowes , Good Luck and I really hope you get the job!

aww thanks! and good luck to you and lol I just went through a bunch of target interviews as well for management but they never called me back so I went with lowes, wouldn't that suck if lowes didn't hire me and I let down target as well..

yup , just got the mail today and noticed the damn card , it came today , they said i will know in a week cuz they still got other people they are lookin at , but my card was post marked on the same damn day of my final interview , lol , really i don't really know why I wasn't hired , I said i can work anytime except over nite , any days , I have three years experience in retail , and I know my home improvement stuff , lol , I am a do-it-yourselfer , so Lowes and I would be a perfect match but they didn't care about that I really wanna know why they dissed me , it seemed like it was going well , i just hope it ain't because I am an arabian young lady , and i am muslim , maybe they didn't like the fact that my hair was covered?? I don't really know , I passed the stupid drug test , and I am not an idiot who can't speak english , cuz I was born and raised here in Detroit ,and I was willing to be paid whatever was fair , so it really sucks , its a new store and I know the have lots of positions available , the 2nd interview the guy was even saying I could be placed on the floor if I wanted to , so why do they make you go through all the interviews and do there stupid test , and waste there money on a drug test , if they weren't planning on hiring you??  forget Lowes , they wanna be like dat FUCK EM

wow, you got the card already.hmm, well I don't get why I must go through another interview still lol anyway, maybe I should get going and find another job just in case ya know..if they are wasting money and time and not hiring everyone, thats kind of odd..wonder what they are looking for ????
and Im very nervous for the next one because I have a feeling its going to be difficult to assert myself in the way that I want to in order to seem professional ya know..I think they may be looking at me for management, Im not sure though im sorry you got the card..I would keep trying and you don't sound like a arabian at all, what I mean is you sound very fluent in english, however perhaps covering you hair was a turn off to them, because that is like bringing your religion to work with you..thats just what I think..but honestly it shouldn't matter.. |

its okay,I was born in the US thats why i speak english fluently and i didn't start covering my hair till last year , so this is like the first job that i really need an employer to look past that, I am bilingual and i thought that would help me get the job ,cuz lots of arabs shop at Lowes here in Michigan , and the two guys agreed i would be some help inthat department , but I guess it was down to the last guy , I don't think he liked me very much , though he was nice , but a few times during the interview he raised his voice after i gave an answer , like an interrogation and shit , He asked could I work over night stock , I said "no" , he replied with an attitude and a loudly said " WHY NOT !!!? " , so that was a little problem , he knows I am arabic or course and I cannot work a midnite shift , so thats why he was being an ass bout that , I told him the latest i can work is 1am , anywoo , make sure you are confident in the interview , your going for a leadership role , so you gotta act the part , be tough , don't be all soft , you gotta have them see a manager type attitude in you , ok?? aww really, Im sorry, ya know perhaps it wasn't the right path for you, and usualy it means something better is coming for you..
so stay positive.. yes and thank you I will be very direct/clear and tough, lol and I think that I will get it..at least Im hoping so.. and Im not sure about management...perhaps down the road..ya know. hmm, well like I said above maybe lowes is not the place you are supposed to be, however I think it is mine, because I have a strong feeling that I belong there..but who knows I could be wrong.. good luck, take care.. |
