I have been working for Lowes for exactly one year know as a Paint CSA, and then a Lumber cashier and back to a Paint CSA. I get at least once a month "good write-ups" from employee referrals and mystery shoppers.

I will be interviewing this Tuesday at another Lowes location for Flooring Specailist and Kitchen and Cabinets Specialist (new store, I will have to go through rack set again Doh! ). I have a graphic design degree with focus in Interior design, and I have all my level one certifications done! Also, I know Autocad.

Anyways, which department will I make more money? Flooring or Kitchen & Cabinets? The area I am moving to is rather a middle to low income community, but people do own homes more than they rent!

Also, can someone send me an example's of the specialist interveiw questions that thye will be asking me. RIght now as we speak I am cramming these Lowes books and study SOS screen tomorrow (after I do freight - Doh! )

I would appreciate it! Rock on!

Kitchen cabinets is the way to go. Demographics may be a factor, but much more $$ potential then Flooring. You will have to work for it however (i.e. engaging the customer in the store, lead management, follow-up, product knowledge, and etc.. Be yourself in the interview, dont worry about craming. Personality and basic skill sets can be important. If you know what you mentioned that is a good foundation.

More money is in Kitchen & Cabinets, but a few people already filled that positioh. I am working in Flooring! I am confident that I will be great! Most people in my area do not own homes, so Kitchen and Cabinets may not be a great option. It's a new store, so if it is I will transfer.

A few things to keep in mind:
- Study the Lowes Book on the department, the questions come straight out of the book
- Address your needs to the store
- Say what they want to hear
