Recently I had the misfortune to hear our very own zealot at work blathering that New Orleans is in fact a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah and got what it deserved and therefore deserves no aid. I just rolled my eyes thinking it was another one of her rants, until I read that there are right wing groups out there who believe this to be true! How scary is this!!! Especially when you consider that the vast majority of the dead were children and the elderly.
How sad. How sickening!

Somehow, I believe if Miss Zealot lived along the gulf and had some of her own "skin in the game", her pie hole would have been shut.

I try to engage this nut job as little as possible. She's quite loud, and I wouldn't want to get fired doing something as pointless as banging my head against a brick wall.

Sticky, my goodness, aren't you in a "blue state"?  You can't be the only person in your store who sees through Miss Z's crap logic. Somebody's gotta say something!
I'm in a "red state" in the South for chrissakes. I know of a few people who would politely point out to this woman: "My dear, if the Lord made hurricanes to destroy cities and punish its citizens for the sins they commit against God Almighty, then the Lord should reduce every Catholic church into a pile of pick-up sticks any day now." At any rate, Joyous Noel to you all.
