It's snowing and I'm bored and currently house-bound, so I'm going to tell you all a funny little story to help pass the time.
I did something really silly today. One of those typical, stupid, funny sort of things.
My cell phone was no longer taking a charge from my car charger, and I assumed it was the battery. So, as I was smart enough to buy 2 batteries when I bought the phone, I changed it right away when I got home.
This morning I got in to the car to go work and plugged in my cell to the charger, and got the same message...."unable to charge"
crap, a b0rken phone.
Having a little bit of spare time on my lunch break...well, ok I guess it was more of a bonus break, I toodled up to the mall with my cell in hand, and a prepared speech about how I know I have the extended warranty plan and I should get a replacement free of charge, blah, blah, blah..., esentially preparing myself to transform in to one of those customers I hate.
I got to the kiosk and told the guy about the charging issue, and he said it was common and not to worry, they would replace my phone free of charge if they were unable to fix it. Whew! Would I get the replacement today? Sure, but he wanted to look my current one over first. So I hand him the phone and I start browsing the merchandise, wondering which one i'd be able to exchange it for.
Then he kind of laughs, and he looks at me with this really smart-ass look, and says, 'uh mam, you do know that this battery is in backwards, right?'
Um, no. I didnt' know that. I had a good chuckle, which I needed, and went on my merry way with my perfectly functional cell phone and my obviously malfunctional brain.
I'm kind of glad it happened, I was having a crappy day before that. The funny thing is that I know this guy will probably be out later with friends or something and tell everyone about 'this really stupid chick' that came in today. Thats me!
Anyone else do something silly like that lately? Or had a customer like me?
