Well i think Lowe's know's about our little group or something like it because a Lowe's email is cirrculating about Lowe's information getting out and about on the internet from unauthorized sources seems we are breaking Lowe's law here lol o'well sue me. Has anyone else got this email i don't personally get email i don't rank high enough i guess but o'well. So now we got to keep the group going so the higher up's at lowe's will have somethign to email everyone about.

What you hear about the e-mail is very true, the gag order has been issued. The strange thing is that you can go to any web site about business and read the things about Lowe's that they say we can't talk about. I think it's something else beside what was in the e-mail, I think their getting nervous about a certain lawsuit that's being discussed.

Disclosing personal company information over the net. i.e. financial information, selling trends, ect.. is against lowes policy and could get you fired and sued. The every day gripes of the average lowes employee is freedom of speech and will not cause that to happen. These sites are a way for use to vent our frustrations with or work especially if we feel we can not get those frustrations heard by anyone at our own stores. We're just looking for confirmation from other associates throughout the country that say "Hey I have that same problem at my store, what can we do about it?" While some people take some of these solutions to the extreme, others have some very useful advice.
This is what I'm looking at. No job is perfect, there is something that someone will not like no matter what they do. I am gathering my 401k and SOFE stock from one of the only companies that is doing half way decent on the stock market now a days. I plan to retire of that stock because there is the potential there to do so. What I ask of all of you is think about what steps have you done to get things changed for you to be comfortable in your jobs? Did you take it through the steps or did you just swing to the extreme solution. There are many avenues that things can be handled through the company. Many people that you can contact to get things taken care of. Lets think of ways that will help the company not make It go down the tube like the other home improvement stores before us. People wont have to worry about there daily complaints if they dont have a job because the company went bellyup do to financial woes.

Absolutely correct RblBlood. Lowes stock has performed very well - I've got a bunch of it. Wish I had more. The company performs well, is managed well from a shareholder perspective.
At the store level, daily activiies aren't always well run. Quite the paradox.
This website is used by employees to converse, advise and assist others, actually improve Lowes business, as an extension of their vintage email tool.
Sites like this aren't a threat to corporations, thay are actually an asset. Lowes mgrs./HR/LP/GO are welcome to contribute to it, as individuals, and they'd probably learn from it. Sabotage or snooping around like voyeurs or dime-novel spies in attempts to discover who's talking about Lowes outside of work is - well - wierd. A lot of effort, and what good will come of it?
Mgt. should have a real relationships with with the staff. Go out after work and over a couple beers/sodas, all thats said in this forum will be said - and more. Or have coworkers over to the house for BBQ and badminton or something. But don't fear or hold in contempt those good people who speak what they feel is the truth. None of us would be married or on speaking terms with our families and friends if we did that.
Honesty and open communications will reduce the paranoia.
I wish Lowes mgt. included a few more individuals who are more capable of getting performance out of staff by using positive behavior: develop staff, direct activities, delegate duties - and appreciate staff's efforts. Managers who get Lowes involved in the community they sell to, who won't allow illegal, or dishonorable, or immoral behaviors in their stores. These types seem rare - and probably get squeezed out of the corporation by the others.
It is a good company, with a lot to offer individual employees, customers, the communities where LOwes does business. Stick with it, and enjoy.

Any retribution by Lowes against employees for filing or acting on a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) would get them in serious trouble. Any efforts to stiffle the suit should be reported to the attorneys working on this matter. Any threats, written or verbal, are illegal. Take note of who said it and when. They will try and intimidate you, don't let them. This isn't an effort to say Lowes is a bad employer, it is about getting what you are entitled to under the law. Here is the link to at least one of the attorneys working on the casehttp://overtimelaw.com/. There may be more. This website is temporary, there will be a new site up next week. We have always known employers monitor these sites, and so when they read this post, they will understand: IT IS ILLEGAL TO TRY AND COERCE EMPLOYEES OR IN ANYWAY INTIMIDATE OR THREATEN THEM. GOT IT.
