Can anyone tell me the starting pay range for IMA? Is this position going away soon? Also, what hours do they work? How is HD; retail as usual? I heard Lowes pays more and is better in some regards. Thanks for your input!!!

From what I've read, lowes is exactly the same as Home Depot only with a blue apron. Autoreplenishment was supposedly going to eliminate the IMA's job but so far it's been such a dismal failure, I'm not too worried about it...infact they've started removing certain vendors from the AR program because of the amounts they send each week. A product will average 20 sales a week, and AR will send us 10 every two weeks....then again Home Office will usually come to the "rescue" and send us 2000 to make up for lost sales.

Ummm.... blue apron?? Sorry it's red. But yes the companies are VERY similar.
(although if you are at all concerned about the mortality rate of customer's throughout the company... I would highly suggest Lowe's.... )

We start at 4:00 am, we work with walking terminals that we push around and scan outs and post little orange tags to either pack down the item (after searching for a long time in the overhead for product that either has been recieved incorrectly or put in another departments overhead) sometimes it's there, or a tag indicating it's on order (if we are lucky enough to order it) or to be ordered (usually a CAR or a Host buy). If we are lucky the items are packed down and we don't have to recreate the same pack down tag day in and day out. The pay is OK usually HD will give you what you ask for if you are a new hire, raises are dismal. In most cases the DH's will work the open tub but most of them are so undertrained that we end up doing it ourselves. You learn all sorts of tricks to fool the system and get product in and if you're luck you can actually fool the CAR system in to ordering stock. MIS is a joke and couldn't write good software if they had instructions. MST is simply just broken. Most host orders are usually too much stock for the ASW of the product and those items that have higher ASW's are usually the ones you will never get. In other words for all the talk about SKU dilution it is the home office that is in most cases the biggest cause of the problem. How are things in your town?
