ne1 ever been told no to cashing in vacation time? meaning, not going on vacation and instead getting paid for the accumulated hrs.

You don't use vacation, you lose it.
Personal time over a certain number of hours will be cashed out.

not true Clock. HR told me u can cash in vacation time if the store mgr approves. yes i know if u don't use vacation u lose it but cashing in is completely different. i've been at hd for over 5 years. i have 3 weeks vacation time. i used to always just take vacation but now i want the cash for it. once it hits "allowed" im cashing it in. i'll let u know how it goes......................out of my pocket. thanks for the reply Clock. correct me if i'm wrong again or if u have or had a different experience, if your HR tells u otherwise or if anybody knows somthing i dont.
