Hi how's it going, I'm new to Canada been here for about 3 weeks and I recently got a job at Best Buy in Ontario. I'll be working in the wireless dept. Anyways when I got the job offer I was asked how much I wanted and I said 9 not knowing what the average wage in this country. Is that about average? I was thinking more of 10 per hour, and the drive to the store is about 20 miles and you guys know how bad gas prices are. Anyways hows 9 for starting, too low?

I have orientation this weekend, I was thinking about going back to the GM and asking for 10 because of the far trip. There is a BB 5 miles away from my house that just called me yesterday and wanted to interview me but I already signed papers for the far location! So now I'm in a sticky situation. I was thinking about either asking for 10 an hour when I go back for orientation or asking the GM to transfer me to the BB 5 miles away from my house. Do you guys think it would be a bad idea to ask to be transfered so fast? I'd like to keep the job no matter what but I'd like to save hundreds of dollars on gas by working next to my house. Thanks
