This actually is true. . .I'm dept. head for lumber at a Home Depot. The reason makes sense, too. . .too much potential for abuse; e.g. you have a neighbor building an addition on their house and you buy all of their supplies, then get a kickback, etc.

Cheers,

So there for i was finally told the truth then.. thats a little scary.. ok heres my next question.. Is it true that home depots items on the shelves are unsafely shocked and hangs over the shelves?.. Again this is something that i was told by my store manager and im just wanting to know.. Because i am looking into a employement with home depot.. SAFETY is a big must for me because i dont like to work unsafely.

No. . .this time you're being fed B.S. Home Depot is so safety conscious it's positively nauseating. . .at least for an old timer like me who got used to freely mixing it up with lift equipment in a lumber yard.

In our store, we run a safety inspection of every dept. upon opening and again at closing. Everything must meet HD standards. . .all pallets fully shrink-wrapped, no open netting, all safety cables attached, everything properly banded, etc., etc.

The kind of shoddy practices your people are speaking of do not exist in any HD store I have been in.

Cheers,

We are getting a home depot in florence south carolina.. We have two lowes stores i work at one of them.. I am glad to know that home depot isa safe place to work because i am very careful when i am at work and very safety conscious.. I do not get on or use anything that is not safe and if it dose not meet my own safety standards then i refuse to do anything that i know or beleave to put me in danger..

Makes sense my rear end. That potential for abuse exists in any store, and this (THD) is the first place I've ever worked in retail that didn't have some sort of discount for employees.
