How do you think this will affect Sears appliances? Saw this Reuter's website.

We have a local appliance store that sells Whirlpool items.
They offer a Whirlpool MA also.
Back when we needed a washer and dryer, we bought ours at the local appliance store... Sears did not have the better deal at that time.. We did not haul away. 50 dollars cheaper even with my discount or any coupon I may have had.
Soon Kenmore items will be available at other stores.

HarbourQueen, you say in your post that Kenmore appliances will soon be available at other stores? How can this be? I have not heard of this anywhere. Where did you get this info? Kenmore is a "house brand", which means it is a brand that is sold only at a specific store, in this case Sears. Do you mean that it will be available at other Sears stores such as hardware stores? I know it is available on military bases and commisaries in places that are not near Sears stores, but that is not the same. Kenmore and Sears are one and the same. Every Kenmore appliance has a label on it that says "sold by Sears, Roebuck, and Co."

I dont know what LAcy's plan is..... I do not have facts to support the sale of Kenmore items in other retailers(just a hypothical statement)
The other stuff about my purchase was true.

Whirlpool does liquadate Kenmore laundry through it's other stores (locally owned outlets stores). It's been done in our area-right down the street from us, and is legal. Only thing they have to do is mark out the telephone # listed inside the lids. Our district investigated and Whirlpool apparently can do whatever it wants with our discontinued merchandise.
Why we do not have it written in our contract with Whirpool that they can not dispose of Kenmore products through any other source than Sears is beyond me.
