I'm thinking they will wait until the fourth quarter ( October ) By then, your benefit rate will be down to about minimum wage. This will also save them a ton of money because you usually make about 50% of your income in the last 3 months of the year because of the Holidays ! Thanks Alan.

There was a post ealier today about some changes in the pay structure in HA.......it did not say anything about what it will be. The jewelry people were offered a buy out if it affected them too much. Maybye that will happen. Circuit City sure as hell did not offer anything like that when they went houly......it has nothing to do with MITT rates......they will do it when they are ready.......they dont need a reason. Why not just wait and see what it will be? From what I have read on here some sort of hourly or houly+comm would be better than starving on draw for weeks on end. So how could it get worse right?

Well my Manager the other day was talking to me and she said she didnt know when but that we were going hourly but commission. Now if I had to guess when it will happen after the change in shoes and jewelry happens. I can not help but wonder if it is too late for some.

I was just pointing out a fact wich at first you DENIED was happening (the jewelry buyout). I was saying that ANY change would seem to help them out. Dont you care that the HE folks might be getting helped by a new pay structure???? I hate to see anybody or anything get trashed 24/7. This is a business, not a welfare program...things change, sometimes good sometimes bad...but if you cant deal with change then this country, company and economy are not for you. If we went to starvation wages I would leave, period. But since I choose to stay I choose to be loyal to my company to a certain extent. I work for THEM not the other way around. Some on here think they can do what they want and screw the company....well guess what? They cant.

I would have to see what the new pay structure would be before I comment. I work in D57 and have seen my MITT pay go from $24.94 three years ago to $16.96 now. I am curious, could someone bring me up to speed on what happend to fine jewerly so I kinda have a idea of what to expect.

Jewelry Depts. that have under 500,000 in volume went straight hourly. Over 500,000 went to 6.50 per hour plus commission with a target of close to 13.00 per hour. Talked to jewelry person who said commission ranges from 1 percent to 6 percent.

This does suck for me. I am making right around 20 dollars an hour as my benifit rate. Dam i do not want to be moved to another department (i have no passion to be in appliances too many old timers, no offense). If i make too much by there standards then if they give me some sort of buy out i am going to take it and quite. I will not work in another department. There is nothing wrong with appliances it is just not for me. I work tommorow (10-3, not to bad) and i will check out things there. I think i saw someone say you can look it up on the intranet and if so, i will be doing that. If it is true then it has been nice knowing everyone. I will just work at my other job tell my hours kick in. I will not let sears make a mockery out of me and my job by putting me on some sort of commision plus hourly. it is a sad day and for anyone in appliances who thinks "they will never do that to us" trust me your day unfortunately will be comming to.

I think i'm gonna be in the same boat as you. Although everyone else has been complaining about HE. Hell even a bunch of my fellow associates are in draw or just above draw. If they do switch to base + commission, I can almost gurantee I will lose a considerable amount and thus would take the buyout. Like you SM, I just don't see my self in appliances.

I am in the same boat also. Give me the buyout if this is what I can expect. Thank God for me I will have my degree in December. What really sucks is that they could have waited until AFTER Christmas and at least given us a chance to make a few $$$$$ for the year.
