Stores may Own Sales, but Delivery and Service have a way of taking away that ownership.

We need a relaunch in those areas also.

Just Looking, I know my sgm and he's NOT going out on his own with this. He follows all the rules to the letter. But, I'm sure if the store needed a different appliance they thought they could sell, they'd try to get it. My sgm works very closely with dgm, as do all the stores in my area. Controlling inventory costs is very important when sales are down. I guess my point is, that there doesn't seem to be any real difference with the store-owns-sales strategy than before. If being able to order a different refrigerator or stove was going to bring around real change, then I'm sure they would do it. But that's not the answer. Getting appliance customers into the store would be helpful. IMO.

Unfortunately the LOST SALES key was taken away when Hoffman put on it's blinders to what we were telling them. Surely valuable information was being captured. But the real truth seems to lie in the information which seems to be totally ignored. Look at your 801 invoice receipts and see what often had to be ordered due to lack of stock. A simple comparison with rim should key off any replenisher or computer a problem lies just beneath the surface. Yet, week after week rim may go on inaccurate, fen is never upped despite constant need, and ven fails to be properly addressed for ads, time of year, events or holiday needs.

Our management seems to be poorly trained in how to address the problems, even if they have been apprised of the needs. A while back in our Currents they stated they "had become aware of the value of accessories". Since then nothing has changed. Why have batteries for camcorders in June or throughout the summer? Why have three Vhs-c camcoreders and only three tapes in the store to satisfy all past and future customers? Why have 20 SKU's of mini-DV cams and not have over 13 tape packages in three months. Why not send back all the old wires before we bring in the new Monster cable set. Why have over 2-300 packages of cell phone accessories and never have more than 1-2 phones available. Why even keep the prepaid phone cards on hand. This is the small SH*T and it is a big problem even after our plan to have the customer's needs.

I could go on and on and so can all of you. but WHEN is the company going to address the issue. Ihave had it up to here with Sylvania stock and nothing else. We have met the low end need of customers and their needs have dwindled, yet we continue to tie up ou $$ with this crap with low margins and fail to meet the needs of the everday customer.

God Bless the company when they take all the knowlegeable people out of the business. If I was Best Buy I'd be changing my fall plans and double my number of openings this fall.

How long before we learn how to fill the shelves. Air will not sell. Today's customer wants satisfaction today! Not when Sears gets aroud to it. SOS my a** unless you mean same old sh*t.
