sears has issued orders to get more product in local wharehouses and store stock rooms to have a selection of appliances that customers can take with them, also they will match price not necessary the same product and take the sale and also give a bigger percentage off to get the sale and match price at will. and give free delivery and zero percent financing to entice custmers to come back to sears. i have read all the press statements and this is what is get out of it. well so what , what makes it different than what lowes and home depot and best buy has been doing for years. so sears in their infinite wisdom has now figured it out. oh boy lacy. you are such a leader. can you not read between the lines. bring in an assortment of lower line appliances , and that you are doing. go for units sold and not for larger profits . well join the game. it is better sooner than later. any more big ideas. huh

Rp, several years ago we shipped product to the stores whether they needed or not. For some reason, they stopped doing that. At least, at the time, if a customer were to go into a store and wanted a certain product, the product was there. I just don't understand why Sears doesn't want the product in the stores to begin with. Doesn't make any sense. We don't get hours because nothing is coming in and the sales associates are losing out on sales because the stores don't have it there. And you are right, Lacy needs to wake up and smell the sh*t!!!

Fees? I'll have to check on that. All I know is that the stores pay us for the products and service.

It is or used to be called ROII Return On Inventory Investment......you get charged for all the inventory in your store and have to pay for it every month......the goal is to turn inventory as fast as possible....we dont need a lot of crap we cant sell in the stores.....we just dont have the room.....we only need the best selling stuff....

A few years ago we were indeed putting invetory for take-with into the stores. But we could not resist our characteristic death-wish and shoveled crap that nobody wanted in with a vengence. In HA they sent in low end junk you couldn't give away.Soon they had the inventories totally out of line and hopelessly screwed up.All this because those dim-witted slugs couldn't bring themselves to ask the stores what they wanted and what they could sell.Sears rose to the top of retailing with a PULL system of tailoring each store's assortment and backup inventory to what they could really sell in the individual markets. To do that, local control of assortment and advertising was needed.Since we went to a PUSH system where all sorts of inappropriate crap was foisted on the entire country all at the same time,we have progressed on a downward spiral to palookaville and have become not the premier retailer, but the last bastion of faded glory.Kind of like the government...leave the people alone and they'll get the job done, but pester them incessantly and shove your programs down their throats and they'll achieve undying mediocrity as a best-case scenario.
