Ah, the good folks at The Onion. Saw that early today but good pull Nofs digging that up. Funny.
Ok, I have a copy of the end that HBO has not whacked off youtube.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnT7nYbCSvM
Anyway all three endings work.
1) Life goes one.
2) Tony gets killed.
3) It was a dream.
32 seconds into this clip. As T looks at the jukebox. The flip side of Journey's "Don't stop believing" is "Anyway you want it."
That is the answer.
A pretty good spin on the Tony is dead theory by Bob Harris below.

The lfe goes on theory by the best TV guy about the show.

Theory No. 1 (and the one I prefer): Chase is using the final scene to place the viewer into Tony's mindset. This is how he sees the world: every open door, every person walking past him could be coming to kill him, or arrest him, or otherwise harm him or his family. This is his life, even though the paranoia's rarely justified. We end without knowing what Tony's looking at because he never knows what's coming next.

The dream theory. The one I'm leaning to more and more.
As tony walks into Holsten's this song is playing.

All that you dream.
Quote:
All, all that you dream
Comes through shinin silver lining
Clouds, clouds change the scene
Rain starts washing all these cautions
Right into your life, makes you realize
Just what is true, what else can you do
You just follow the rule
Keep your eyes on the road that's ahead of you
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
All of the good, good times were ours
In the land of milk and honey
And time, time adds its scars
Rainy days they turn to sunny ones
Livin' the life, livin' the life lovin' everyone
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
I've been down, but not like this before
Can't be 'round this kind of show no more
I've been down, but not like this before

Note Tony's shirt in the first show of season 6A." Members only"
It's almost the same shirt as in the end.

OK, enough of this. I need to get back whacking Lampert and the Holdings Corp. ~GoodFella
PS
OK, one more. Note Meadows plate number 39F. Look how Meadow runs from Tony the same way she runs toward Tony.
The Sopranos Season 3 Final scene. #39. The final scene. 39F?
http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/episode/season3/episode39.shtml
The youtube clip. Watch how Meadow runs.

A little trivia:
Quote:
Al Gore is a "die-hard" Sopranos fan, but was going to have to miss last month's season finale because he was scheduled to be on a plane to Istanbul. So Gore called Brad Grey, the chairman of Paramount, and asked for an advance copy. After originally refusing, Grey eventually "had a Halliburton-made steel case, containing a copy of the episode, delivered to the tarmac where Mr. Gore's plane sat in Chicago. The case was locked with a code. ... Mr. Gore could not open it until the plane was in the air, when he was instructed to call Mr. Grey's office for the numeric code."

If you haven't heard, The Sopranos won Outstanding Drama Series at last night's Emmy Award ceremony. Alan Taylor (a personal favorite of mine) won the Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series Award for the episode, “Kennedy and Heidi” and David Chase (Our Hero!) won the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series Award. For more scoop about the Emmy's read the article in USA Today. Listed for the Outstanding Drama Award were; David Chase, Executive Producer, Brad Grey, Executive Producer, Ilene S. Landress, Executive Producer, Terence Winter, Executive Producer, Matthew Weiner, Executive Producer, Henry J. Bronchtein, Co-Executive Producer, Diane Frolov, Supervising Producer, Andrew Schneider, Supervising Producer, Martin Bruestle, Producer, Gianna Maria Smart, Producer. Congratulations to everyone involved!
