(emphasis added) Apology accepted and reciprocated. It's funny you should choose "caustic" though. It's as though my reputation precedes me. Ranks and titles are supposed to be fun and, in a few good forums, they generally garner the member status within the community and show that the member has been around a long time therefore knows his shiznit. There's nothing derogatory about them nor are they means to belittle posters whose views may not be shared by the majority. The last thing I want to do here is create some exclusive group-thinking circle-jerk where opposing opinions are punished for simply being different. However, I do see, and have experienced first hand, the value that particular posters can add to a community, its' content, and its' longevity. As such, ranks and titles are a simple and effective way to reward valued members for their contributions and give n00bs something to stick around and work towards. |

If the ranks are assigned equally then that would be cool with me. Subjective ranks are the ones that cause problems, IMO

| We shouldnt give people titles because it can affluence new people to listen to them more based on the sole fact they have more posts then everyone else. Just try and mimic the old retailworker and we will all be fine. | |
