Everyone seems to forget that the hand picked "recharger"-Mark Cosby comes from the fast food industry;not only notorious for it's low wage butt busting jobs but also for their FRANCHISES.His purpose and background should be taken literally in this case.Could Sears wind up going the same route?.Is "store owns sales" a prelude or a "test" of the possible franchising of the Sears name in full and not just the hardline stores.I've heard alot of things like "it will be charged too me" or "I'm not gonna pay for that" coming from management more than ever.Don't forget Sears is also involved with the likes of ESL investments & Eddie Lampert who made his name with a car DEALERSHIP called AutoNation. And under this arrangement the Sears company will still need executives and boards of directors along with the low paid employees. And the store managers will work just as hard as the 22k/year fast food "franchise" manager.(Note:James Cantalupo CEO of McDonalds sits on Sears board).Won't even go into all the contracted services performed by non-Sears employees but you too might be a "contractor" for Sears one day.

Already you have the portriat studio, optical, garden shop, automotive along with many other miscellaneous services in the full line store acting independently as their own entity and soon it might be clothing, appliances, hardware or electronices with their own staff & schedules so when no one shows the portriat studio will call a "manager" at a CENTRAL office stating that no one showed in mens clothing today and there are angry customers waiting for service and will be told it will be 1 hour before they can get someone there and the customer will be wondering why a cashier from appliances can't come over and ring them out.

I think Eddie Lampert is pulling Al Lacy's strings. He is looking to unlock value for the short term. If that means operational cuts he'll do it. Also capital exenditures will be cut. Think that in the case of the Great Indoors that may be a plus. That was a fiasco and money loser started By mr. Wonderful himself, Arthur martines. If sales keep sliding much more we'll really be in big trouble. GFG
