well lacy you be proud of yourself, every worker who works for sears dreds coming to work not knowing what will change next. it is not only in brand central the hammer drops, but in ism and sears leads and mid management. sears will never suceed at making sales and bringing sears back to the high place it stood in the the 80s ,until horrible managers like you leave it alone , you have a great workforce, they just want some security and all you are giving them is horrible stress, shame on you lacy , shame on you board of directors for not getting on with it. you should not put a program in place until all the strings are tied and all the blocks put in place. no you experiment and with you experimentation you cause people to go their own way. they want to have a secure eniviroment. even though you have your inadequancies and you do not have any direction you should not put a program in place until you got all your I'S DOTTED. no you just surge along causing devastation and rumors abound. what a bunch of low luster managment you are. it is a shame that you can not come up with a program that will INSPIRE instead of destroy and cause more stress. rp

Well said rp.
As you can all see by several posts in the last few days, Lacy is only interested in one thing and it doesn't include the welfare of his employees. It's getting the stock price up as far and fast as he can, in the mean time he is ruining the lives of thousands and thousands of his loyal workers.
The following 2 posts spell out exactly the direction he and Mr. Lampert are headed and it's obvious they don't need any of us to pull it off !

From a previous post
If the following statement is true, (this question was asked several times on this forum with no reply answer so far) then no, Alan doesn't deserve the large salary and bonus he got. This situation cost thousands of Sears employees millions of dollars from their retirement income !
In fact, there are still hundreds of lawsuits waiting to be resolved because Sears gave out misleading information about their rosey financial conditions before the stock price collapsed !
" Isn't it true that Alan was the one that got us into the credit card disaster originally, he was head of the credit division for 6 years before he became CEO.
It was his doing that got us into the terrific default problem by sending Gold Mastercards to millions of people who in turn got cash advances with the idea of never paying it back.
It was his mistake that caused the stock to go from $60.00 to $18.00 in the first place ! "

Are Lacy and Lampert just buddies ? From an article on " BusinessWeek Online "
" Lacy, whom Sears says is in regular contact with Lampert, appears to be following a similar strategy. Consider the share buybacks. Analysts can't recall the retailer repurchasing $1 billion worth of shares in a single quarter before. What's more, the board has authorized another $1 billion buyback. And analysts expect Sears to use much of the $4.5 billion in aftertax proceeds from the credit sale to repurchase even more shares. Result: a stronger stock -- and a bigger stake for Lampert.
Lacy also appears to have shifted his cost-cutting goals since Lampert came on the scene. Besides going after headcounts and store expenses, he has reduced capital expenditures, which he cut this year by 15% from earlier projections. Much of that reduction stems from Lacy's pullback on Sears' new home-remodeling store, the Great Indoors. A former Sears official says Lampert made it clear that he didn't think the concept was a wise use of funds.
Given Lampert's zest for unlocking value, it stands to reason, say investors, that he may look to the real estate holdings. Sears owns 519 of its 872 mall stores. Richard C. Moore, an analyst at McDonald Investments Inc. and an expert on mall properties, thinks Sears' properties could fetch $7.6 billion. Whether or not Lampert moves in that direction, he has already made his mark on America's third-largest retailer. "

rp, your post was excellent, you put into words exactly what many of us feel.
Our store, has lost more than a few employees (from sales associates all the way up to store manager) to emotional meltdowns from work related stress. To those who say "then leave".....some situations make that not an option.

There are many times when I seriously have to consider putting up with the Pa's, Credit, Mra's, Credit protection, High Prices,It's not enough to sell merchandise to customers, but we have to gough customers in every aspect of the sale, somedays it's really hard to show up for work, and try to make a living out of it.....

lacy watch out what goes around comes around and you are do for some big pain. pain is what a woman experiences in child birth and you have birthed a lot said programs. get it right and then put it in motion. but until you get it right dont torture what makes you the bottom dollar. this workforce is what keeps sears afloat. not you or your inadequate board of directors. you are few and feeble . rp

Anyone remember CLAS (Cash Loss Avoidance System) we all got trained on it well over a year ago and are yet to see it implemented. Our hub lead claims that the company scrapped it because it wouldn't work right. How bad can our programmers possibly be? I write software for a living and would be truely embarrased to put my name on some of the crap that has come out of the Hoffman IT Department.
