I'd be willing to bet that if these "guidelines" were implemented and followed in this day and age there would be a class action lawsuit filed quicker than you could say "sexual harassment".

Yeah, you're probably right. Back in those days, corporate big shots could get away with about anything.

I do have to admit though, a few of these are quite amusing...

Really folks, I'm not kidding. I have actually heard some of the more reactionary posters on a couple of these forums make statements that, though dressed up to be a tad more PC, pretty much say the same things.
There's an investment broker who's one side of a point/counterpoint in our local paper that loads their forum up with stuff like this a lot.
Those attitudes haven't completely gone away yet.

It's true Nofs, that this kind of attitude or should I call it as it really is... sexism is still rampant.
Until the day I walked out of Sears, the GM referred to me as "The Skirt". Note: I was the only female ASM.
If I seemed particularly pissed off in a meeting, he would suggest that I was "having one of THOSE days"... and the guys should back off - that it was a passing thing.
I choked it down, though it infuriated me.
So, yes... this kind of stuff is still 'out there'. We've come a long way baby... but we still have a long way to go. I'm thinking it may wash away with the twenty-somthings generation.

Well, old Rush certainly does his best to keep it going.
