Now boys... stop and think. I sure you can figure out why that might be... especially you MA. It's been explained to you so many times and you still don't flipping get it? Think elitist flipping attitude.

You post some sweeping generalization that says to the effect that "poor people are prostitutes, addicts or morons and I'd be happy to seem them all in mental institutions" and you don't EXPECT a negative response?

Bullshit! People make statements like that just TO elicit a negative or at least heated response. Then they curl up and accuse the responders of "picking" on them.

Hell, ME can't even imagine that there are people out here existing on less than $10k a year and eating noodles. He can't figure out why they don't want to "debate" with someone who's from another flipping planet as far as knowing OR caring anything about their situation is concerned. Mr. Green

Nah... if you guys are the only two being "mistreated" and "abused" around here it just might have more to do with YOU than it does those who don't care to be talked down to and lectured in the name of "debate". Wink

or, more likely, people post with opinions based on who and what they are, and where they have been in life

your posts reflect your experience, and mine reflect mine

a conversation is pursued to share those experiences and to hopefully bridge the divides, and allow people to learn from those who have a different experience than their own

you see every one of my posts as somehow condescending, and i used to see most of yours as steeped in the class warfare rhetoric of the distant past (history major ya know Wink )

and yet we keep conversing... you have shared with me via PM and i with you. i chose to learn from your messages about (some of) who you are, and as a result your posts - given the context you have shared - make far more sense to me than they did at first

i was hoping you could get past your pre-judgement of me and read what i sent you and learn (some of) what my POV is based on

not every difference of opinion is a personal attack - sometimes reasonable and intelligent people simply do not agree

Yeah, I have to admit, I was being snarky up there and yeah you caught me at it. But dad gummit, I ran the Sears board last night and there it was YET AGAIN... on two different posts... After at least a half dozen people had tried to explain it to you just a few days ago... basically "IYDLITL" or "If you don't like it why don't you leave?".

You've got to know how that's going to come across to some people MA. You're a newbie to the company AND a newbie to the forums. Where do you get off waltzing into either and telling other people what they should or shouldn't do, think or say and assuming that they somehow have the same choices you have? You asked people why they do what they do and the more polite ones have explained it to you. When the hell are you finally going to drop it? Mr. Green

If you're going to make snap value judgments about others, especially based on how much they "annoy" you (do yourself and EVERONE ELSE a favor...) expect those others to be making judgments right back at you and there's no law requiring them to use any more common sense or logic than you do.

If you're coming across as a snob to someone... for whatever reason and whether you agree with the assessment or not... that's probably exactly how they're going to react to you... in anti-snob mode. You may have been making six figures and living pretty high once upon a time but these days, no matter what the circumstances, you're just another appliance associate among many at Sears and no more entitled to an "attitude" than any of the rest of them.

Not saying the assessment or the reaction is right or wrong, good or bad. Just saying that's the way it is. It's just simple human nature.

So come on man, don't start the usual pissing games with me because you'll only wind up making a bunch of sweeping generalizations in regard to situations you know absolutely nothing about and that don't apply, either to my situation OR that of any of the other folks I'm referring to. You've already made a pretty good start.

Ok so that was a whole lot of information I didn't need to know Nofs. If you were trying to make me feel sorry for you that didn't cut it. Any way you slice it, the price of top ramen isn't going to break your bank. You know, I would be OK with Nofsdad calling me a troll whenever he wanted to IF he never said "pissing" games, matches, contests, etc. ever again. What'll you say Nofsdad? are you game?...minus the pissing of course.

You know what would be really weird? What if I was Nofsdad's neighbor? What if I was one of the "folks" he was referring to? One thing is for certain. Unlike me, he would never even know it if I was.

Seniority doesn't dictate anything. The IYDLIWDYL argument is one that is typically used when the other side can no longer offer a logical response. I see no reason why anyone should be upset over what MA says. ME? sure. MA? You have got to be kidding.

btw, whose quote was that nofs? The one about the poor people. Did you mistype that one? was it MA or was it supposed to be ME?

Not that it has a damned thing to do with you but the quote AND everything else refers to a discussion MA and I have been having for months now. If had been directed at you I would have said so, and you don't really need to try to insinuate yourself into it.

And just a personal opinion... MA doesn't need a flipping forum lawyer. He does just fine holding up his end of our arguments all by himself. No need to get yourself all wound up and ready for one of your "Where do I start" sessions.

??? that doesn't really answer the question. I know all the stuff I quoted when I asked the question has nothing to do with me. I was referring to the post before it. Did MA say this:

"poor people are prostitutes, addicts or morons and I'd be happy to seem them all in mental institutions"

yes/no

MJ is proof that in America, one can be born a poor black boy and grow up to become a very scary rich white woman.

Evil or Very Mad

I saw a video of him riding around on one of those little rides he had over at the neverland ranch. A little boy sitting in the front of a train with him in the back dressed in all black holding a big black umbrella to keep the sunlight off of him...

definitely gave me the creeps.
