Macy's Mess Joined: 13 Mar 2008 Posts: 56	Posted: Fri Jul 04, 2008 10:44 pm    Post subject:   All we hear is Scorecard, scorecard, scorecard, credit, credit, credit. They don't let up and yes, assoc's are being rewarded but it is not frequent because it is soooo hard to get an 85 score.

We make sure we communicate to the associates how they're doing on this constantly...and we have a big rally (breakfast)monthly to celebrate...we give out certificates (and, of course, MM)to everyone who gets the 85 or better, etc...of course, it helps that we historically do very well on CRL's, etc., so we're used to constantly talking about whatever it is we need to communicate...I think 9/10 associates in our store can tell you how they're doing on the scorecard. I think it kinda all boils down to if your managers give a darn, and that trickles down from the store manager...

Is the poor business always the fault of the sales associates? Macy's needs to look at other avenues to improve business and employee morale.

They were pointless for us, all they showed me as a HC was that MAYcylady stays logged into her register to long and uses a certain key way to much. Other than that they were pointless. The full metrics were non-disclosable and were considered top secret items. Only key carrying salaried managers could view them and they couldn't do anything with them..... so what is the point other than to kill more trees?

The pressure is really on in my store for sales, and it is getting really bad. We were used to being bullied all the time about credit, but now sales too? I hate to be the one to point it out, but we are in a recession. People do not absolutely have to have that ugly, polyester, overpriced JM dress.
