I am thinking of applying at the Lowes in Gaylord MI and I know with retail every store is different. Any personal knowledge of the store would be great. Also if anyone could recommend a good retail store to work at in either gaylord or grayling.

I did not work there, however I went there several times in 2005. My ex is from Alpena and her folks needed some work on there house so I went up there and they bought over $4k worth of merchandise on my discount. The folks at the store seemed pretty cool however I have not been up that way since then.

You've got to be joking about having someone post their store location.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought you could be fired for using the discount for rental properties or anything besides your own personal home. 4k using a discount at a store not even close to home would seem like a no brainer as far as the violation is concerned.

It wasnt a rental property, it was my ex's parents home. They gave me the cash and as far as the SM was concerned, he did not care other than he was making money. My old LPM who was my boss did not bat an eye to it.

I was just using the rental properties as an example. We just had a store meeting with our district LP who stated that you would be fired if you purchased products using the discount if those items were used on anything but your own personal property that you actually lived in. In fact, he stated the discounts are tracked and part of his job was to look for anything out of the ordinary. He also stated that any large purchase or any multiple purchases such as re-model your home projects needed to be cleared/advance notice to him directly. Of course this could be a simple scare tactic for all I know.
On a side note, I thought Lowes accepts other store coupons? Couldnt you purchase a Home Depot 20% off coupon on ebay for a couple bucks and use that? I'm pretty sure the coupon has a limit of $6,000 if I recall correctly. I should also mention that our store grand opening is coming up and they are having a employee/family day. Everyone gets 20% off for that one day. Interesting enough, we were also warned that it was a thank you gesture on Lowes part for opening the store and not something we should go hog wild with as far as spending lots of money. Geez....talk about bursting bubbles!!

Lowe's does not accept THD's 20% off coupons because they are bogus. They are only for THD's employees during the Christmas holiday period. No customers receive the 20% off coupons. The thing is that most customers don't know that the coupons are unable to be used until they have loaded up their carts.
If your local Lowe's is accepting the 20% off THD coupons they are fools.
