Our new store is about to open. Most of us are new to Lowes with a very small handful from other Lowes stores. Its easy to see that some of the Lowes workers moved to this new store for an opportunity while others are total rejects. One such reject is our HR person. This person is a total zero. The entire store shares these same feelings. Today was the last straw. This person told everyone yesterday they needed to sign up for medical, dental ect. right away. Today we go in to ask why we signed up and now it states that we waived all benefits. She tells 20+ people that we screwed up and waived our insurance ect and she can't do anything about it. Asking around, every single person who signed up in the last few days has the exact same problem. Obviously, anybody with half a brain would realize that something is wrong if EVERYONE has the exact same problem. Noooooooo....not this person. She still stands by her comments that EVERY SINGLE person screwed up his or her insurance and her hands are tied. Sitting around the break table, we have concluded that this person MUST GO! What can we do or what options do we have?

Have you spoken with your store manager? You always want to try in-store resolutions, first, but sometimes this doesn't work. The next step is to contact your district HR manager and let her/him know what's going on.

Honestly, I think you are going to have to suck it up. Anyone you complain to right now is going to be more focused on the new store opening, and also use the excuse that the HR person is new and a lot of things are frantic with the new store opening soon. I would suggest just dealing with it for now, and allow the person to self destruct. From what I have seen at my Lowe's, the upper management already see and know the problems, but they might not have an immediate solution, especially in your case with so much going on. But eventually, when the opportunity arises, they will take care of the problem (if they are a half decent SM). And don't fret the insurance, I believe they have open enrollment near the end of the year for ANYONE who is not enrolled already.
