Are any of the other stores having the same problem we are at our store ?

We have hundreds of customers bugging us every day about the TV converter boxes needed for the Feb 2009 switch from analog to digital TV.

As of now, we have received maybe 100 total. The problem is there are expiration dates on the $40.00 rebate cards the government has sent them and in most cases they have already expired.

This is really bad public relations for Sears and the customers seem to be putting the blame on the salespeople when we have nothing to do with it.

Maybe the manufacturer's are afraid to ship them to Sears fearing they won't get paid !

PS, all of the other retailers such as Walmart, Target, Best Buy, Radio Shack and others seem to be getting plenty of them to sell.

Cool

Maybe you should ask them if they want to apply for a Sears Credit Card instead of getting a converter box Confused

Is my region in the minority or is everywhere else still using rabbit ear antennas?

Anyone with cable or satellite (or Direct) TV doesn't have to worry about Feb 2009 as far as their set. Just the folks getting regular airwave TV.

Methinks this is a lotta hype to sell product.

we are selling TONS of them. we have them in stock both the 57778 and 57788 We just got 40 more of the magnavox ones in on friday and have maybe 20 of the dish network ones also. I checked with the best buy down the hall from us and they have trouble keeping them in stock. They have tons that do not do analog pass through but have trouble keeping the other ones in stock. (we are near the canadian border and get canadian TV signals over the air) you can input the UPC code and then HFM them for customers with coupons expiring (not supposed to but it works)

The one we were carry you could pre order it that is how some of us got our boxes now you can't do that anymore. I know we were getting a different converter box so maybe you can get that number and try to order it.

Yea, if you have cable or the dish you don't need the boxes. I'm thinking a lot of customers don't know this or just not getting it yet. The only reason we got one is because we have one tv that isn't hooked up to cable or dish.

Its amazing how everyone wants the box that costs 10 bucks after coupon, but the 20 dollar box is way too "expensive." Im over these things, they only pay about 40 cents anyways. And then we have to go through this stupid process to modify tax cause of the state we're in. They should have these available to buy from the call center monkeys so the people will stop calling us!!!

Sell em a new TV instead-guarantee you that's the attitude of many.

I think ratmaze is right, many probably don't know. That and many stupid scammers are thinking if I buy it with a coupon and return without a reciept they'll get full price.

Eh,many don't know.

Our store was out of the Magnavox boxes for a while. We finally took down the signing and dummy model. Still haven't gotten any in. Ever since we picked up the DISH boxes we have managed to keep them in stock.
