As usual they take away more than they give. But you can make up for it if you boost your PA sales by 25% and sign up more people for credit. Rolling Eyes

I have an innovative way to raise profit for the company on ever declining sales.......screw the salespeople out of their commission!!! I want the credit for coming up with it first!

Alot of commissions are for a NATIONAL rollout but too many local markets don't or can't handle the merchandise the commissions are based on-and the local management should know this.

I've seen FLS in my district where they don't display or didn't carry things like lawn tractors or stainless appliances.There are also FLS in area where there are more apartments than houses or visa versa.There are FLS in less than wealthy areas and FLS in flourishing suburbs.The stores that did the best over the last decade were in housing bubble areas if you will.

The local managment wether it be store of district level should be able to compensate-but they won't or won't be allowed.But all they have to do is look at the sales of the lines in question.They can figure out where and how much they'll be paying commissions.And there in lies THE PROBLEM.They know,they know what the 'average' associate will wind up making.

Even more insulting are the coaches that try to tell you 'well you should be able to make this' or 'it's something you're not doing'-pa hint.Or they s i m p l y don't care.

No, but things like the Maytag Epic went from 4.9% to 2.7%. Most of the branded stuff went down significantly. The few things that went up were minor, and mostly Kenmore, and only .2% or so

OK - I didn't check that because I never sell those.... the Kenmore versions are usually on sale, and/or the Whirlpool so I never really bother with the MT version unless a customer asks about it.

This goes back to what IS normally being sold at the LOCAL level.If you sell alot of Kenmore you make out,if you sell alot of Maytag you loose.National adjustments don't necessarilly translate to the store/local level.Since Kenmore is advertised the most... .

Those things suck. Every time I show people those they get this look of disgust on their face lol. Guess it doesn't hurt that much.

Doesn't help that in the area of the store I transfer to when I go to college closed down a Maytag plant a few years back and sent it overseas....guess how many people buy Maytag there.

The Maytag brand is fairly damaged in many ways.

Long term, probably salvageable, but how many brands does Whirlpool really need? They're getting as bad as GM.

That's one deal I never fully understood other than greed on Whirlpool's part.I guess with all the overlap in the market the only way to beat em is to join em.One way or another they find a way to copy or expand on a competitors idea anyway.

One thing on projected commissions,you need to be in good with your coach but I'd see if you can get a breakdown of sales by manufacturer.Most associates can't get much further than line # in workbench.You could green screen stock #s but the ASC should have a better breakdown.This would be to the coach's benefit as well seeing how a commission change might affect their store and not the company.

Helps fight the other manufacturers that are saturating the US market (LG, Samsung, Frigidaire). Now Whirpool has control of three major names - Whirpool, Maytag, and Kenmore. (I'm strictly talking laundry here)

Any more info on commission cuts? I just looked at my commission reports for 8/8/08 and nothing has changed as far as i could see. I guess this is just a rumor that commissions are dropping or it's going to happen later because i haven't seen anything that verify's this claim.

So what would it take for these to be called "major" changes? If it brings down your income, I'm simple minded enough to consider it major.


I said the ones that went UP were minor. Not the ones that went down...

I think they're GREAT machines. They're the exact same machine as the old meteorite Kitchenaids we used to have, only 600 bucks cheaper. For a 1200 RPM spin and a 4.0 (or whatever size they want to call it this week) tub, it's a steal when they run the 15% off sale. F&F night was even more of a deal, but the commission changed, so I never showed a one.

Of course, now that they don't pay as much anymore, I'm moving onto the Kenmores with the 1050 RPM instead, and talking people out of the Maytags.

They wanted the name, yes, but I think what they REALLY wanted were the Amana bottom mount fridges and the Jenn-Air cooking. Both GREAT product lines.
