I just found out that on October 26, 34th Street will be named RH Macy Way to honor the day his first store opened up. Anyone excited about what is happening?

BTW, I found out various vendors will be selling special edition items to honor the birthday. One of them are a set of red star cufflinks from Alfani. I guess all the men will be walking around pretending to be Wonder Woman.

Along with the stuff would be Alfani birthday printed pajamas (nice and tacky,) Charter Club Ooh, Aah, and Wow pins (must have) and Dooney and Burke Macy Printed bag (real must have at $200.)

I also love the huge number signs that are supposed to go at the main entrance of the flagship stores. It should be fun to see people bump into them and threaten to sue.

so i come in one day, go down the elevator in the back of the store, and when i get out..........

WOW !! 8 or 10 huge signs sorta stacked along like giant dominoes with pics for the 150TH anniversary!! i thought it looked cool, but most people who take that elevator are mom's with strollers...should be interesting Surprised

hello, security? ummmmmm ..... there's sorta been an accident by the elevator. seems a child knocked down the first sign..then that one hit the next, and well.....it was like the domino effect if you know what i mean. Confused

er...could you call housekeeping as well as an ambulance? Rolling Eyes Embarassed thanks so much.

i mean, when you get around to it..... it's no rush, really..... it's ok. i'll just sit here with the customerS splayed all over the floor by the huge signs...... yes ! the new celebrate our 150th anniversary....yep, those signs. Thumbs Up ok, thanks so much.

oh, i forgot to add......

then security will ask...."who IS this, by the way" ??

who the hell cares??? just send a damn ambulance !!! Shocked

you know, like i said, when you get around to it. i know you guys are busy up there watching the employees like hawks instead of the customers. Naughty! .. so, when you could call 911, that would be super. thanks again.

We were prohibited by company policy from calling 9-1-1 or the police department under any circumstance unless the customer had been ran over by a beeping machine.

They're also doing vendor weeks for the event. This week is that perfume that Anne Hathaway is promoting. Coming soon is INC week. The shoe line just came in. Interestingly, it actually looks better quality than the other private label merchandise, particularly StyleLess Co.

I highly doubt that the Marshall Field Way one will ever exist due to the company trying to obliterate any sense of other names.

I've never seen Miracle on 34th Street. I've seen Nightmare on 34th Street. Are they the same? Very Happy

Ever heard of "Gone With the Wind"? There was a followup to the book by another author called "The Wind Done Gone". I believe that Marshall Fields is now Gone With The Wind or Marshall Fields Done Gone. However you want to look at it.

Sadly. It's like what Lindsay Lohan's character said in The Parent Trap. The difference with Marshall Field and Macy's is that Marshall Field has class and Macy's doesn't.

Macy's has class.... but now they are attracting the JC Penney customer and that is scarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry!

JC Penney used to be a really nice store but they have gone so far down hill that I try to avoid them if I can at almost all costs. They sale cheap clothes now they usually shrink the first time you use wash them.

I liked the Penney's back to school ad where they ripped off "The Breakfast Club" movie. I wonder how many kids watching the ad would connect it to the movie.

Macy's isn't that bad yet.

I don't like to even go into Penney's. I try to avoid it when I can. I went there yesterday because I needed some shampoo. I couldn't find the salon. I don't know if it was upstairs or downstairs, but I knew that Penney's has a salon so I thought I would try because the people at Regis in the mall are so darn rude.

Shocked Penney's is dark and needs some remodeling and cleaning to even compare to Macy's Shocked
