. . . and Happy Holidays to everyone here, whether you celebrate or not. I am thankful for this forum, for everyone's participation, even if we mix it up or disagree. If Santa brings me a new computer, I'd hop on more often.
I hope no one is snowed in, but if I could, I'd send you some of this muggy Gulf air to melt the mounds of snow piled where ever you are. (Then again, we had snow two weeks ago, so that may change).
That would be my gift to bring . . . par-rump-pa-pum-pum.
Stay safe, may your days be merry and bright, and may all your Christmases be (not quite so) white.

And Merry Christmas to you Camper. I'll send this cold air and rain your way. Living in Texas most of my life, the cold does not suit me. Its better off staying north.

On behalf of my family and I, we'd like to extend a very special Merry Christmas wish to all.
Some of you know we've been through some trying times this year. My shoulder surgery in February and out of work for a month, being admitted to the hospital in March due to a bleeding ulcer, and my wife falling and fracturing her kneecap in June. Yet through all of this we have continued on and will keep doing so.
Also some of you may know or remember that I'm a volunteer and help my community through Amateur (HAM) Radio. As a HAM, we sometimes follow a lot of what NASA and the Astronauts do, and with that being said I'd like to share the following story.
| Quote: |
Apollo 8, the first manned mission to the Moon, entered lunar orbit on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1968. That evening, the astronauts; Commander Frank Borman, Command Module Pilot Jim Lovell, and Lunar Module Pilot William Anders did a live television broadcast from lunar orbit, in which they showed pictures of the Earth and Moon seen from Apollo 8. Lovell said, "The vast loneliness is awe-inspiring and it makes you realize just what you have back there on Earth." They ended the broadcast with the crew taking turns reading from the book of Genesis.
William Anders:
"For all the people on Earth the crew of Apollo 8 has a message we would like to send you".
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness."
Jim Lovell:
"And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day."
Frank Borman:
"And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good."
Borman then added, "And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas, and God bless all of you - all of you on the good Earth." |
My family and I hope that this Christmas season and the New Year will bring joy and comfort to all of you and we look forward to seeing to what 2009 brings about. And from my family to your's I close with good night, good luck, a Merry Christmas, and God bless all of you - all of you in the Retail-Worker.com world.

Merry Christmas all !!
I look forward to a year at least as good as the one I've had.
I have many blessings. Good health, enough food and a roof. My kids are flourishing.
I wish the same for everyone!
