Well, Corporate American Lowe's is feeding from the trough again. I have been informed that the incentive plan is changing this year for Department ,Zone and store Managers. The store has to make it budget. I do not have the details yet but after all the brass have their jaunt in Vegas we will be feed the details of the "Great NEW incentive plan My guess is the plan is to Make it so Lowe's can pay out more bonus to management and make it easier to make budget and make everyone happy! NOT
Just making you department budget for the month will NOT give you your payout, The store also has to make budget.
Again, Wait for the details but what next? No more 401K match? Might as well go get in the welfare line!

The only way zone four mgrs get bonus is if the store makes budget. Sounds like they may be trying to level the playing field

Merlin -
If they're trying to level the playing field, then dm's should get zm money and hours, not to mention the responsibilities.
As a dm now, the only thing I "manage" is to get myself to work on time. There's no managing at the department level, we're whipping boys pure and simple.
Don't get me wrong, I like my job but it really does not qualify as a management position. When I can hire/fire/move/promote and demote in addition to making (and keeping) schedule edits, then we enter the realm of managing a department and its associates.
Just my 2¢

I figured they would be changing the bonus structure for Dept Managers once they decided to add more Dept Managers.

That will never happen. Then there would not be any place for the ZM's to go. That would be too many exempt employees (with supervisory authority) over the few employees that Lowe's has at the worker bee level.
