starting at 6 ?? HA !! that will be interesting. as all of the associates are rushing out of their departments trying to get the hell out of the store, and the 6 o'clockers are just waltzing in (or are late ), they are gonna have customers mobbing the place to get freebies and food ??
boy, that might just be worth it to come in and see the bedlam.
oops. can't. the grand finale of Big Brother is on tuesday nite. i'll be tied up all afternoon and nite.

your district planner is going to schedule it earlier if your store closes close to 6 or 7pm..

I'll have a box of off-brand snack crackers served in a heap on a paper towel.
And we can wash it down with a warm 2 liter of RC Cola.
Careful of backwashing, please.

Let me see if I understand this...
We associates are suppossed to have a dinner party at our homes, at our own expense, and invite our neighbors, friends, and family. We are then to ask our guests to donate to a charity, after which we hand their donations over to Macy's so that they get a tax credit for the donation, and they in turn will match said donation.
Is this serious?????
The person whose job it was to come up with this scheme should be fired. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. I HOPE that I am misunderstanding.

I just love being invited to a dinner party and then asked to donate money. Almost as much as I love being asked to donate money every time I walk into a department store!
Macy's is spending BIG bucks to advertise this too.

To my knowledge nothing has been mentioned in my store. We have the posters, but nothing said so far.

Can anyone explain something to me? I can make a donation to my local food bank on my own. Why would I want to go to the expense of having a dinner party, asking my friends to donate and giving Macy's the credit of the donation? What am I missing here???

That's what I was wondering. And wouldn't your "friends" want to make their own donation so that they could get a deduction?
Question...when you donate to United Way does Macy's get the deduction? I was just thinking that I have never gotten a tax statement from United Way in all of these years.

Ah, but see... In order to have a proper dinner party you need to visit our home area and buy new cookware, dishes, table linens, and bar ware. And what will you wear?!?!? Look your best in our newest styles. Nothing makes you think of poor, hungry people than clothing from Karen Scott!

We had the appetizer tonight in my store. Stuffed mushrooms. yum.
Yea, they started talking about the meal today. "Host a dinner party." Thanks, but no thanks. Are you crazy? Not my dirt bag neighbors.

What? No one is willing to invite their friends over and beg them for tax deductions for Macy's? What is wrong with people?

A little off topic, but I am having an emergency: I have to work tomorrow, and all of my black clothes are dirty. Oh no! I may have to call out.
