Of course it will and the spin will be "The Holdings Corp" caring about the environment.

Of course the real spin will be tracking how many bags you sell a hour.

Good pull btw dr. ~GoodFella

Let's rewrite this.

Nuff said.

Naughty!
I wonder if they are also going to charge for the catalog orders on top of their $3 handling fee??? With Belleville processing hundreds of thousands of catalog orders, it's kind of hard to imagine they wouldn't scam the customer on this one as well....

I have a large canvas tote bag that I do my shopping with. I've found that some stores don't want you to use your own bag for some reason. Not many, but enough to make me think I'll look closer at my receipts next time and see if the ones who insist you use their bag charge a "bag fee".

If recycling was that important set up plastic bag recycling bins like the supermarkets and give the customer a reason to come into Sears & possibly spend money AND recycle at the sametime.

This has become such a bigger deal than it already is -- and it's ALL being pushed as a "green" alternative.

Aldi supermarkets has been doing this for DECADES over in Europe, and has the same policy over here: you want a bag, you pay 2-3 cents for it. HOWEVER! They have ALWAYS done it to keep their retail prices low, not to make a fashionable statement about how they're "helping the environment".

With the way they push Sears cards, the next big idea will be a surcharge on using any non-Sears card or cash at the register. Someone's probably hard at work on that one already.
