| Are there any other western stores out there who are having Major cuts in hours? My Rona is cutting them so much. I look at any schedule and it just looks empty. I used to work 24-32 housr a week and now i work 5 hours every 2 weeks! | |

yep, we're all feeling the crunch in the west.
The cut backs are happening heavily out here because the BC stores have been coming in over Rona's budget for wages on a regular basis. I would imagine it has a lot to do with the fact that there are a lot more higher paid full timers out west than there are in places like the Prairies and the GTA, where turn over rates are faster and the stores are full of part timers who get paid minimum wage. Doesn't look like things will be improving for a while. They claim that the hours can't go back up until the sales increase. I guess it doesn't occur to them that in order to increase the sales...they need to have staff in the store to sell stuff. It's gonna be a long winter.
