How much do you think Lowe's saves with the seconds it saves by always rounding down when you clockout? I almost always wait to the clock hits :00 before I clock out. Especially if its close. Sure its onli 1 min but look how many dollars it saves the co. nationwide.

You're very right, that 1 min times thousands of employees nationwide is a staggering amount of money. Have you ever turned on a gas pump to put gas in your car and it starts with 1 or 2 cents before you start pumping? Think of all the stations that company has nationwide and how many people pay 2 cents more for something they didn't get. Most people say its only a few cents, but a few cents to a company with thousands of employees is pure profit in their pockets. I would say that for Lowe's it's in the millions that they save each year.

I know what you mean, even the IRS rounds up if its over half, but i guess its a little different, the IRS makes money rounding up & Lowes makes money rounding down.
